Imanol Alguacil was unhappy with Benoit Bastien’s refereeing that cost Real Sociedad their Europa League last-16 exit.

Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil was unhappy with the performance of French referee Benoit Bastien in the aftermath of La Real’s Europa League last-16 exit following a 5-2 aggregate defeat to Manchester United on Thursday.

Bastien awarded three penalties in the game, with Real Sociedad taking a 1-0 lead inside the first 10 minutes through Miguel Oyarzabal, before เว็บพนันออนไลน์ UFABET สมัครง่าย โปรโมชั่นมากมาย United equalised from the spot six minutes later through Bruno Fernandes, and the Portuguese midfielder converted from the spot to put the Red Devils 2-1 up in the 50th minute.

Real Sociedad were reduced to 10 men after the French referee sent off Jon Aramburu in the 63rd minute and awarded the home side a late penalty, but it was overturned after a VAR review, with the Red Devils 4-1 up front to book a place in the last eight 5-2 on aggregate.

‘It’s brutal, you don’t know how to explain it without making excuses. Manchester United were better, but I would rather compete one-on-one. Referees don’t want to award one penalty that is a penalty and award another. We don’t deserve referees like that, whether it’s us or Manchester United.’

‘There is no neutral decision. I feel very sorry for the fans. No match is possible not because of those decisions. From the 14th minute onwards, it was a pity. There is nothing to blame the players for. The referee did not let us play. We started well. I did not know what would happen,’ Alguacil said.
