Carlo Ancelotti declined to comment further on Julian Alvarez’s controversial penalty after the Argentine forward touched the ball twice.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has avoided commenting further on Julian Alvarez’s controversial penalty after the Argentine striker had two touches of the ball which saw a goal disallowed later in Atletico Madrid’s Champions League last-16 shootout defeat to Los Blancos on Wednesday.

‘I have no comment on the rules, but it is what it is and the rules must be respect,’ Ancelotti said.

Real Madrid travel to Villarreal in La Liga on Saturday, which has been a point of interest for Ancelotti as he was ask whether he understood the consequences of the incident, which has made headlines in the past 48 hours.

‘I don’t know if it’s like that. For us, the game is over. We are focus on the next game, which is tomorrow. It’s a long time ahead, with a lot of games and we want to do well tomorrow,’ Ancelotti said.
